Providing Access to Trans Healthcare (PATH)

Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals face many barriers in accessing gender-affirming providers and services. The mission of our Providing Access to Trans Healthcare (PATH) program mirrors that of our organization: to improve the health of TGD individuals by removing barriers, such as cost, and increasing the availability of competent providers and resources.

Increasing Direct Care Access

The PATH program offers financial assistance to transgender and gender-diverse members of the Charlotte metro area for general and gender-affirming healthcare. The current program offers free case management, mental health services,  and limited prescription coverage. For more details about the program, contact us or check out our FAQ page.

To be eligible for PATH funding you must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Transgender or Gender Diverse
  2. 16 years of age or older
  3. Resident of Charlotte Metro area including Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, and Union Counties in NC, and Chester, Lancaster and York Counties in SC.
  4. Uninsured or under-insured (i.e., unable to afford cost of services, whether it is a co-pay, deductible, or out-of-pocket expense, or insurance plan that does not cover needed services).

Note: PATH Alumni (former PATH clients) are eligible to reapply for program services 12 months after their prior discharge.

2026 PATH services will include:
  • Case management
  • Up to 15 therapy sessions
  • Free group therapy
